When I started going to the gym earlier this year, I was surprised when the guy doing my weigh-in told me that, based on my body mass index (BMI) I was “nearly overweight, but nothing to worry about yet”. Which immediately made me start to worry, just a little bit. So I was interested to find this collection of photos of women, illustrating different BMI categories (underweight, normal, overweight, obese, morbidly obese). The results are sometimes surprising, and certainly made me think again how how much (or little) the BMI classifications really mean.
