I’ve got a friend who, in his travels around the Caribbean, always makes it a point to sample the local beer. So far he claims that there’s nothing to beat a beastly cold Carib, but I don’t think that’s an entirely unbiased opinion. (Hairoun, from St. Vincent, is his second favourite.)

Anyway, today I e-mailed him the link to the island guide to beer, which reviews several Caribbean beers. Island Hopping and The Beer Drinker’s Guide to Cruising also highlight some of the region’s best beers.

And for those who want a comprehensive guide, there is an entire book devoted to Caribbean brews. (Read a review here).

In case anyone is interested, my preferred Caribbean lager (so far) is the St. Lucian Piton, but Dominica’s Kubuli is a close runner-up.
