I was going through my iPhoto albums looking for pictures to share, and realised that I never posted any photos from my trip to Finland last year. Finland is a beautiful country (I've never seen so much wood and water in my life), but the pictures that brought back the most memories were the photos of food.

Finland is not known for its haute cuisine (in fact Finnish food has not enjoyed a very good reputation), but I liked every meal I had there. I found the food simple, yes, but also fresh, hearty, and plentiful. Every bite I took made me feel like I was eating wholesomeness and good health. The photos below feature some of my favourite Finnish foods: rye crackers, sour milk, egg butter, squeaky cheese and, of course, salmon.
